Soccer-Berliners lug sofas to giant World Cup living room

Berlin, June 16Reuters)-
When others squeeze into a crowded bar or around a TV set at home, Berliners can watch the World Cup on a comfortable sofa in the stadium --
A 700-size living roominch screen.
The Berlin United football team, which plays in the second division, has turned its stadium into a huge \"World Cup living room\", \"allowing fans to transport their sofas to the stadium to watch the game for free.
At least 12,000 people are expected to watch Germany\'s first Group G match against Portugal on Monday, up to 850 sofas.
All the usual dim sum, including hot dogs and beer, is available at andaltenforte Stadium, but also some home comforts such as sofa tables and lights are available for each sofa.
The feeling of complete comfort is a huge wall covered with a retro 1970 East Germany-Wallpaper style.
Gerald ponski, the organizer of the \"living room\", said he was inspired when he heard the fans sing \"living room, their home\" in a match about the stadium.

Some people went out of their way to bring their sofas to the venue.
